Cheryl is the vice president, finance and administration, of the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) in the BC Yukon Division, and is the finance lead for the Western regional finance team. As part of a nationwide finance team, she is playing a key role in the transformation of the finance department to a more strategically and nationally focused entity. Cheryl has worked in a variety of increasingly senior positions in the non-profit sector for more than 25 years. She spent nine years with the Alzheimer Society of BC, in addition to her positions with the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Canadian Cancer Society in Saskatchewan. She has held her recent position for more than six years. Cheryl has worked in complex stakeholder environments with board members, committees, operational teams, task forces, government agencies, community organizations and donors. She has been involved with, and led, a variety of provincial and Canada-wide projects and working groups. That work has resulted in operational improvements and innovations that have achieved cost savings and efficiencies, greatly benefiting the important missions of these organizations.
