Earn the certificate to get the advanced technical skills demanded by top employers in Canada, which is the first step to a rewarding career. THE ACAF IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF: You have studied for a minimum of one year at a recognized post-secondary institution (i.e. college or university) or meet the entry requirements through your work experience. You are an internationally educated professional with education or work experience outside of Canada. You’re seeking a more challenging and rewarding role that allows you to be involved in more complex accounting and finance tasks, and to support management decision-making. You prefer to study at your own pace and choose electives that will give you the best opportunities for advancement in the field of accounting and finance in any industry. You are willing to dedicate two to three years of part-time study (on average), or complete your studies more quickly depending on credits already earned. THE ACAF PROGRAM IS: Applied: It uses authentic business scenarios that require you to demonstrate the application of technical knowledge. Integrated: Ethics, communications and other soft skills valued by employers are integrated into technical and elective courses, and hands-on use of accounting and business software applications enhance workplace relevance. Relevant: You can choose from a list of electives that will best position you for placement and advancement. If at some point you want to pursue the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, your ACAF training will be recognized toward the undergraduate degree and specific knowledge requirements needed for admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).
