Accessing volunteer information and session materials Our resource centre is your source for volunteer information and downloading session materials. We encourage you to explore the site since it provides all the information needed to get started. Note: Some pages, such as the session materials, require a log in. Volunteer training Session videos Each session material page has a training video for that session. Each video is presented by a financial literacy volunteer and shows the complete session. The videos also contain useful volunteer tips. Webinars Train the trainer: Learn how the program works and how you can get started. Volunteer your way: Find out about the different volunteer roles. Program orientation Sessions Our sessions provide financial literacy education for the following targeted audiences: adults seniors workplace new Canadians school (elementary and high school) post-secondary small and medium business entrepreneurs View outlines and download forms, PowerPoint slides and handouts (session materials packages) for each session. Note: You may share the lesson plans and the handouts with potential host organizations, but you cannot provide them with the PowerPoint presentations and speaker notes — this is the copyrighted property of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). Session registration You must complete and submit the online session registration form for each session that you present. The form can be found on each session materials page. We track your presentations in the event that your provincial body recognizes them for CPD credits. Session evaluations Evaluation forms must be completed for each session and submitted. We rely on them to help continuously improve the program. There are three forms: Host Evaluation, Volunteer Evaluation and Session Evaluation (for participants). All the forms are included in the session materials. Newsletter As a registered volunteer, you will receive our newsletter. Please add our email address [email protected] to your spam filter to ensure that you receive the newsletter. Support Area leaders An area leader is a designated local volunteer in your region. He/she is your first point of contact for any questions you have or program information you need. Find your area leader. CPA member/student buddy system The CPA member/CPA student buddy system connects CPA members and CPA students. It provides CPA members with help in conducting financial literacy sessions and allows CPA students to participate in the program. Note: Only CPA members can conduct sessions. CPA students may only assist. Reaching out and connecting Volunteer opportunities from us We provide a number of volunteer opportunities. They are on a first-come, first-served basis. Find an opportunity in your area. Your community Reach out in your community (schools, community centres, libraries, service organizations, etc.) to identify opportunities to conduct sessions. Be sure to contact your area leader in order not to duplicate outreach efforts. To help with your outreach efforts, we have prepared a template of a letter which you can customize to suit the host organization. This letter is also included in the session materials. Area leader You may be contacted by your area leader, or directly by us, to seek your help in conducting sessions scheduled in your area. Other You will receive email notices of other special events scheduled for your area. These events serve to provide learning as well as networking opportuni¬ties that will help you in your volunteer activities. FAQs View our FAQs to find answers to your questions.
