Professional accountants in Nova Scotia will be governed by one organization, Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia, as the province completes the required legislation to merge the three former accounting bodies.

With the proclamation of the Chartered Professional Accountants Act, Alberta’s designated accountants proudly welcomed the arrival of the CPA designation to their province on Canada Day.

The provincial legislation to formalize the unification of the three accounting bodies into Chartered Professional Accountants of Manitoba (CPA Manitoba) has received Royal Assent in the Manitoba legislature.

With the introduction of the Chartered Professional Accountants Act, the three accountancy bodies in British Columbia are one step closer to unifying their members into a single organization.

Proclamation marks the beginning of CPA Newfoundland and Labrador. The months ahead will be focused on establishing the operations of the new organization, and enhancing the way it meets its legislative and strategic objectives.

The CPA Newfoundland and Labrador Transitional Steering Committee announced provincial legislation to formalize the unification of the three accounting bodies and the Public Accounting body into CPA Newfoundland and Labrador.
